RPM has tasked Roop & Co., its agency of record, with managing a bi-weekly internal newsletter—dubbed RPM Around the World. Its purpose is to enhance RPM’s employee communications and disseminate important information to the company’s 15,500 employees worldwide
Strategy
To create a culture that would drive the company to the next level of growth and success, there was a need to increase the flow of communication and transparency, as well as to effectively communicate a shared vision. The RPM Around the World newsletter was launched as a primary solution to these challenges.
Execution
Roop & Co. worked with RPM to develop the RPM Around the World newsletter, which includes three main components:
• Email newsletter with story summaries that link to the blog for more information
• Blog-like microsite that serves as the central repository for all newsletter stories and allows them to continue to live on beyond the initial email distribution
• PDF version of the newsletter for employees who lack email access that can easily be printed and distributed at each company’s manufacturing plants, distribution centers and other facilities
As part of this project, Roop & Co. created attractive design templates for both the email and PDF versions of the newsletter to ensure consistent branding across all platforms.
Results
The newsletter has averaged a 29.2% open rate and a 19.8% click-through rate. Engagement across its social media channels also jumped by an impressive 267% over a one-year period. Employee feedback garnered from a newsletter satisfaction survey was overwhelmingly positive. Overall, 95% of respondents were very or somewhat satisfied.
